  • Education

Colorado youth must receive an affordable, high-quality education that encourages success and prepares them for life in the 21st Century.

    • I have a strong commitment to education. My parents are both career educators and taught me the value of quality learning experiences for all students.
    • I support the improvement of school buildings and programs so that student learning can be maximized.
    • I support funding for ongoing teacher education and training.
  • Health Care

The people of Colorado deserve affordable health care, especially children and seniors.

    • Currently there are approximately 770,000 Coloradans without health insurance, many of them children. All children must be insured.
    • I support preventative options like childhood immunizations, mammograms and well-woman care, and prostate screening that help bring down the cost of health care.
    • Health care costs are up and we need to look at creative solutions that help drive premiums down.
  • Jobs and Economic Opportunity

Coloradans should be able to live where they work, and work where they live.

    • A fair wage is essential for local residents to afford housing and the basic quality of life her in the heart of Colorado.
    • As a community we must support and engage small business owners.
    • I support tourism and economic development initiatives to improve and sustain our front range, mountain and foothills economies.
  • Environment

Protecting, preserving, and enhancing our public lands and water supplies is essential.

    • As an avid sportsman and trail runner, preserving the integrity of open space and trails is important to me.
    • The related issues of bark beetles and wildfires threaten forest health. I will work to secure public funds to help mitigate the bark beetle epidemic, and protect our watersheds for fire prevention.
    • I will stand up for the water quality and supply interests of our communities from the front range, through the foothills, and into the mountains. I believe that community collaboration is essential and will work to make it happen.
    • I will support policies that ensure environmental protection as an essential component of energy development. I will also support renewable energy and energy efficiency standards and policies.
  • Transportation

A safe and efficient transportation system is the economic life blood of our region.

    • I will continue to fight hard for dollars to make transportation improvements from the front range through our mountains, on transit issues as well as improvements to roads and highways.
    • I have been an active member of the I-70 Mountain Corridor Coalition since its inception, and will continue to support collaborative efforts to improve I-70 transportation issues.
