State Senator Dan Gibbs, 34, who went to CMC-Leadville and did his share of backcountry skiing around 14,000-foot peaks Mt. Massive and Mt. Elbert while he was there, carried the bill through the state senate.
[...]
"I have friends in Summit and Eagle counties who moved to the state to go to college, maybe finished two years of school, fell in love with the mountains, got a job as a liftie, and never finished school -- but always wanted to," he said. "Now they can."
